Tribal Police Chief Jake McKnight sent out an all-employee e-mail on Tuesday, May 16, to inform employees of a few disturbing inci- dents. <It was brought to our attention yesterday that there was a prank call to one of our Tribal departments asking the employee to come out with their hands up,= he said. <I just wanted to make everyone aware that in most situations an ofocer would never call and ask you to come out with your hands up.= Tribal Police also have been told by community members that people are getting phone calls saying that a loved one is being held hostage and will be harmed if a ransom isn9t paid. <If you receive one of these calls, do not pay them or give them any of your personal information,= McKnight said. <You need to call your local police department right away.= The non-emergency number for Tribal Police is 503-879-1821 and the after-hours number to call or text is 541-921-2927. þ We want to hear from you!
